I’m thrilled to announce that Representative Jessica Farrar; Representative Ana Hernandez; Representative Armando Walle; HCC Trustee Zeph Capo; and HISD School Board Trustee Juliet Stipeche have endorsed me for Judge of the 11th District Court!
Municipal Elections are heating up—so don’t forget to vote. Join me on October 4 at a Get Out The Vote rally at 3530 Wheeler Avenue at 2:00 pm. October 5 is the last date to register, change, or update your voter registration information before the November 3rd elections. City elections are crucial to our local government, so get out and vote for your favorite mayoral, city council, and comptroller candidate.
- Early Voting: October 19-30
- Election Day: November 3
- Find your polling location or an early vote location here.
- Get information on the candidates and ballots from the League of Women Voters.
The weather is cooling down and the campaign is heating up. I spent Labor Day weekend visiting with our local labor unions at the AFL-CIO picnic. The barbecue was fantastic, and I was privileged enough to judge the ribs. (It was a tough job but I was up to the task.)
In September I participated in the initial session of the Center for Houston’s Future Leadership training. I spent the weekend learning more about our great city and meeting other business and community leaders. I’m looking forward to discovering more about our region and the challenges facing Houston and Harris County.
The League of Women Voters had their repast luncheon honoring Sissy Farenthold and Carol Keeton. I loved hearing from such trailblazers. The League of Women Voters provides fantastic information for voters on all candidates in all elections.
I was privileged to moderate a panel about community involvement at the annual Texas Women Rainmakers CLE with Robin Young, Jan Fox, and April Lopez. All the women and speakers at the event were inspiring and energizing!
We had another hugely successful fundraiser on September 21. If you didn’t have a chance to drop by, you can still donate online. It’s a big county and every penny helps me get the word out about my campaign!
Family life is just as fast-paced as the campaign. Now that school is back in session, the kids are staying busy with homework and soccer. Lorelai got to go see Taylor Swift in concert, and she took me with her. (Or is it the other way around?)
And, when we can, we drive up to Austin for a UT football game.
Hope you are enjoying your fall and the start of cooler weather. Thank you for your support and for spreading the word about my campaign! Don’t forget to like my campaign on Facebook and follow me on Twitter. See you soon on the campaign trail!
